23 women were announced for the 2022 WWE Women's Royal Rumble, leaving room for seven surprises.

- Melina: Entered at number two, she was eliminated by Sasha Banks. This marked her first WWE match since 2011.
- Cameron: Entered at number 13, she was eliminated by Sonya Deville. This marked her first WWE match since 2016.
- Ivory: Entered at number 18 and used her Right To Censor gimmick. She was eliminated by Rhea Ripley. This marked her first WWE match since she competed in the women's battle royal at WWE Evolution.
- Alicia Fox: Entered at number 21. She was eliminated by the Bella Twins. This marked her first WWE match since the 2021 women's Royal Rumble.
- Sarah Logan: Entered at number 25. She was eliminated by the Bella Twins. This marked her first WWE match since April 13, 2020. She was released by WWE on April 15, 2020.
- Mighty Molly Holly: Entered at number 27. She was eliminated by Nikki ASH. This marked her first WWE match since the 2020 women's Royal Rumble. She's been working as a producer in WWE.
- Ronda Rousey: Entered at number 28. Won the women's Royal Rumble. This marked her first WWE match since WrestleMania 35.
