Prior to the match taking place, May noted that it would be an emotional night and that she would then have to get up to catch a flight at 6:00 a.m. without ever revealing where she would be heading.
Fightful Select reported in August that there had been conversations within AEW about potentially working with May and that AEW was gaining traction as a potential next stop for May. May also recently shut down her merchandise site, further adding to speculation that she was heading towards the next chapter in her career.
AEW will be hosting its AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event on Sunday, October 1, in Seattle, Washington. The event is honoring Antonio Inoki, and Tony Khan has talked about the event being the start of a new era for the promotion. Learn more here.
May made her STARDOM debut in December 2022 and has competed under the STARDOM banner on a regular basis since then. She previously defeated Mina Shirakawa to win the Goddess of STARDOM Championship.
Fightful will report on any further information on the future of Mariah May as new information becomes available.
