"I wanted to win some AEW gold. I mean, whether that's singles gold, whether that's six-man, I want to win some AEW gold. That's one of the first things I said when I got here. I said, 'I smell gold in them there hills.' I won the Ring of Honor World Title. That's one of the top accomplishments of my whole career, and I'm not at all slighting the Ring of Honor World Championship, not at all, because I'd be happy to get another shot there. But I want some AEW gold, man. Whether I got the conglomerate with a couple of my boys and get [Trios] Titles, whether I get another shot at the TNT, do I get a shot at the International, or I get a shot at the big boy. You know what I mean? I just want some gold," he told Justin Dhillon on Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic

Mark Briscoe has come up short against Daniel Garcia in the past when challenging for the TNT Title. He's also been involved in the Continental Classic Tournament which would have earned him the AEW Continental Title.
