Mark Henry has tried not to be a douchebag.
On Monday, Mark Henry was officially announced as a inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame. On Busted Open Radio, Henry discussed how much admiration he was receiving online and in phone calls and explained why he believes he is well liked.
"I tried my best to go my whole career without doing anybody wrong and I lived by that. I guess it's worked because I haven't got the 'Mark Henry is a douchebag.' If you strive your whole life without trying to make that list, you're doing pretty good," said Henry.
Henry took time to explain how being a wrestling fan first was his gateway to a hall of fame career.
"I'd have to say my love for wrestling is what made me who I am today because Vince (McMahon) would have never known who I was if it hadn't been for me being on Oprah and saying 'What does the world's strongest man do in his spare time?' Wrestling was what I did in my spare time. I was the fan that spends their last dime or says "maybe I'm not going to buy lunch tomorrow, I'm going to buy a wrestling ticket.' That guy...that was me," said Henry.
Because he was a fan, Henry hopes his position shows other fans that their love of wrestling is the "right thing." He also discussed his experiences going to wrestling shows with his grandmother when he was a child.
All of Henry's comments can be heard on the Busted Open Radio YouTube channel or the video above.
