Mark Sterling Says Matt Cardona Might Rename The GCW World Title The GCW Universal Championship

Smart Mark Sterling made an appearance at GCW Homecoming Part 2 on behalf of Matt Cardona.

On July 24, Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage to become the new GCW World Champion. The former Zack Ryder took advantage of interference from Rickey Shane Page to pin Gage. After the bell, Cardona was showered with cans and bottles from the GCW faithful, showing their displeasure with the result.

Sterling addressed the crowd at the end of Part 2, saying that Cardona, who has proclaimed himself the face of GCW, is considering renaming the title the GCW Universal Championship. Furthermore, they are reviewing the tape from the heinous act and considered suing Gage for almost murdering Matt. They decided against that because it would likely mean a reversal of the decision and that would make the fans too happy. Instead, they are pursuing a class-action lawsuit against the GCW Universe to the tune of $500,000.

He concluded by saying that he agrees with Dave Meltzer, who drew the ire of the GCW fanbase by calling their post-match actions embarrassing.

Nick Gage came to the ring and punched Sterling. Just as he was about to cut his forehead, RSP and the rest of the 44.OH! came out and attacked Gage. AJ Gray, Mance Warner, Matthew Justice, Alex Colon and Effy came out to the former champion's defence.

It was then announced that the aforementioned 6-men would take on Rickey Shane Page, Atticus Cogar, Eddy Only, Gregory Iron, Eric Ryan, and Bobby Beverly in a War Games style match in Chicago.
