Matt Cardona: I've Done Everything On The Indies, Now Is The Time To Go To A Major TV Company

Matt Cardona has become the top act on the independent scene since being released by WWE in April 2020, dubbing himself as The Indie God and winning titles in GCW, AIW, F1RST, NWA, and more.

Even while sidelined for four months with a torn pec, Cardona continued to make the towns, appearing at meet and greets, and stepping into the role of GCW General Manager.

Cardona return from injury at GCW Homecoming, teaming with Broski Jimmy to face Joey Janela & Matt Hardy.

Now that he's back in the ring, Cardona says he's eying more than independent wrestling.

"When I got released from WWE four years ago, my whole goal wasn't 'what can I do to get back there.' I knew I had to forget about WWE, forget about AEW, and focus on myself. Rebuild and rebrand. I think I've successfully done that. Now it's time, coming back from this injury, I've done everything there is to do on the indies. Won all the titles. There are titles in my closet right now, I don't even know what promotion they are for. Been there, done that. Now is the time to go to a major TV company. I don't know if Major TV Company God has the same ring to it as Indie God, but we'll figure it out," Cardona said on Rasslin with Bradon Walker.

Cardona made an appearance on the March 30th episode of AEW Collision, answering the open challenge issued by then-AEW TNT Champion Adam Copeland.

Cardona was set to wrestle at TNA Emergence, but said on TV that he isn't cleared and instead will have a monster in his place.
