Matt Hardy discusses The Hardys in NXT.
The brother duo of Matt and Jeff Hardy have been making waves for NXT in recent weeks, appearing on multiple episodes of television, even defeating Myles Borne & Tavion Heights in their first WWE match since 2019.
Now, The Hardys are set to take on NXT's top team, Fraxiom, at NXT Roadblock on March 11. On the latest edition of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about their current run in WWE, saying that they've been treated like legends.
“It’s been incredible. I can’t really put it over enough, they’ve been so great to us. The way they have treated us as such legends and just like they act so honored, ‘Thank you so much for doing this, thank you for coming out and being a part of this.’
Hardy went on say that both Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom have been great to them.
“We came out last night and the crowd was so loud. Right before we went out, Shawn came up and said, ‘Hey, I know these people are going to be real hyped to see you, but if you can, we’d like to keep the show on time. Just try and you know, kind of get it going.’ That was great, Shawn’s been incredible. Matt Bloom has been great, everybody has been. The whole experience has been so so so so so fun.”
Hardy then went on to talk about how passionate the fans have been before also noting that he and Jeff officially want to finish things in WWE when it's all said and done.
“It is. I mean, it’s just crazy how much universal love there has been in the building the last couple weeks. Last Tuesday, it was a much bigger venue and just the universal love there was incredible. We could have sat there and milked that promo over, the crowd, they were wanting to chant Hardy or like welcome home, welcome back, thank you Hardy. At one point, they were saying Brother Nero but we just tried to go ahead and get through our promos so we didn’t go heavy in our whole segment. It was just so flattering, so humbling. The legitimate chant and the love and the passion those people showed us when they were saying welcome back home felt really special. I think Jeff and I have come to realization, at the end of the day, the WWE is our home and that is where we want to finish things when it’s all said and done."
The topic of Jeff Hardy came up, with Matt saying that he feels like he's paying off a debt that he previously owed to WWE. Matt also noted that he believes Jeff is very motivated right now.
"Once again, TNA has been amazing, TNA is a home to us too. TNA has been so great to us, they’ve been so good. The way they work in concert, they’ve been so great together. We’re having the time of our life in TNA and if we didn’t get this chance to have this great final run as the Hardys in TNA, who knows if the whole WWE thing happens? I know too for Jeff, he was real proud because he really had something he wanted to prove to everyone and he felt that he owed WWE a debt and he thinks he’s paying it off. He’s super hyped about it, he’s super hyped about this match. As we were driving home today, Jeff was just talking about how he’s had this idea and how we can could do this and this is one thing we could do as another move and I said dude, you sound like so motivated right now, it’s so cool to hear.”
