Matt Hardy Says We're Getting Close To Meeting 'The New' Jeff Hardy, Is Excited To Have Him Back

Matt Hardy provides an update on Jeff Hardy during a conversation with Wardlow.

Earlier this year, Matt Hardy was under the belief that 2022 would be the year he and his brother, Jeff Hardy, solidified their legacy as one of the greatest tag teams of all time with a final run atop the AEW roster. Unfortunately, those plans did not pan out as Matt Hardy was expecting as his brother was arrested on DUI charges just days before they were set to challenge for the Tag Team Championship in a Ladder Match at AEW Road Rager.

Jeff Hardy would face repercussions following his arrest and is only allowed to return to AEW following a successful drug test and the completion of a rehab program.

Now, Matt Hardy has revealed that we are close to meeting the new Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy says he's looking forward to having his brother “back.”

During a conversation with Wardlow on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Wardlow once again expressed his desire to team with The Hardy Boyz in trios action, giving Matt Hardy the opening to talk about his brother's future.

"[Teaming with Wardlow] sounds great. I'm pretty excited. We're getting close to the point where we meet the new Jeff and we figure out his future and what he ends up doing," said Matt. "I'm pretty excited because I feel like his mentality is like — he knows he has to make some changes and do what's right. I feel like he's at a point where he will this time around. I'm excited to have him back and I think this would be amazing. It'd be so much fun."

In the past, Wardlow has talked about his love for The Hardys. You can read some of his comments at this link.
