Matt Riddle: The Scooter Wasn't My Idea, I Suggested A Dirt Bike

Matt Riddle talks about his scooter-riding days in WWE.

Matt Riddle was briefly one of the top stars in WWE as a tag team partner of Randy Orton and an enemy of Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. During his top days in WWE, Riddle rode around on a scooter. However, he says the scooter was not his idea. Rather, former WWE CEO Vince McMahon wanted him to ride a scooter while he suggested a dirt bike or skateboard.

Riddle shared this story on the Barstool Rasslin' podcast.

“The scooter, it wasn’t my idea. I actually suggested a dirt bike. I had an idea of the dirt bike, and Vince [McMahon] was in complete control at that time, and he’s like, ‘A scooter.’ Then I go, ‘What about a skateboard?’ But everybody in AEW was doing skateboards. So I didn’t do that."

When asked about the scooter potentially hindering the view of Riddle as a badass, he agreed but said since kids are going to buy merchandise, the scooter might work out better

“Yes, the crazy thing is, I agree with that. But the kids loved the scooter, and the kids buy scooters, they buy merchandise. I think the scooter, I still go to shows, and they’re like, ‘Hey, can you…’, people pay me extra to ride the scooter. I’ll ride it, dude. It’s gonna make a kid out there happy. I’ll ride it."

Today, Riddle is back with Major League Wrestling following his WWE release.

He is currently the top contender for the MLW World Heavyweight Title after winning MLW Battle Riot. Learn more about that here.
