Mercedes Mone has high praise for Skye Blue and Mariah May.
Mercedes Mone is still relatively new on the All Elite Wrestling roster but she is excited about the multiple possibilities for new matchups that await her. While she has already competed against Willow Nightingale in a strong match to win the TBS Title at AEW Double or Nothing, she also got to defend the championship for the first time ever in a first-time match against Skye Blue.
Speaking on the Superstar Crossover podcast with Z100's Josh Martinez, the WrestleMania headliner praised Skye Blue as somebody who goes above and beyond whenever called upon by AEW.
"Skye Blue, working her butt off every single week. Anything that's asked of her, she does, and more for the women in the locker room," said Mercedes.
Mercedes also had high praise for Mariah May, noting that her dedication to professional wrestling took her from a super fan to one of the greatest women on the roster currently.
"Mariah May used to be just a super fan. [She] took her butt, flew herself to Japan, went to STARDOM to learn and now, she's just one of the greatest that we have on the roster," Mercedes said. "So, it's just top to bottom [great]. These are all girls I've never wrestled with before. I just want them to have the brightest light and the brightest opportunity to show how great they are."
Mercedes also praised Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, and Nightingale's current rival, Kris Statlander.
"I think Willow is such a superstar. I think she's gonna be something so massive. She just has to keep on being herself. She's so beautiful," she said. "We have so many amazing women. Toni Storm is killing it. Thunder Rosa has such a hunger and a fight for more.
"Kris Statlander is such a strong, powerful woman, used to be a stunt woman."
Mercedes will get the chance to show how great she is when she faces Stephanie Vaquer in a match for both the AEW TBS Title and the NJPW STRONG Women's Title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Fans can check out the full card here.
