Mick Foley discusses AEW’s importance.
Since the company’s inception in 2019, both fans and wrestlers have praised AEW for providing a major alternative in the wrestling space, especially given WWE’s dominance over the industry through the 2000s and 2010s.
Specifically, wrestlers have reaped the financial benefits from this situation, as pay scales in both promotions have increased dramatically over the years.
While chatting with Monopoly Events for a new interview, Mick Foley explained that he’s grateful for AEW because of this very reason.
"I think they’ve been really important in raising the remuneration that wrestles receive. I’m not saying this out of any disrespect, but WWE is to me in its own league, but I’m really grateful for AEW. They have great matches on a regular basis, and without them, the WWE superstars would not be making that they deserve. So thank you, Tony Khan."
Elsewhere in the interview, Foley provided an update on his health. Check out his full comments here.
