WWE released Mustafa Ali in a wave of cuts in September 2023. In December, he announced that he would be going on his World Tour Campaign, which would see him wrestle for promotions around the globe. Ali hit the ground running on the independent scene, and he is coming to TNA as well. A Mustafa Ali vignette aired on the January 25 episode of TNA iMPACT!, and he is also set to work with NJPW, as he will face Hiromu Takahashi at NJPW Windy City Riot.

On January 30, Mustafa Ali took to Twitter/X and noted that every show he has been on has sold out. He also wrote that the promotions had record-breaking attendance, and he pointed to strategic alliances with TNA and NJPW. Mustafa then stated that it was all a reason to believe that "In Ali we trust."
