On the first night of the ThunderDome, the Intercontinental Championship changed hands.
Jeff Hardy pinned AJ Styles on SmackDown tonight to win the Intercontinental title, becoming a five-time champion. Hardy won the title with the help of a knee brace he was wearing throughout the match. The night started with Styles attacking Hardy's leg from behind, nearly getting him medically uncleared to compete. Throughout the match, Hardy was barely able to move as well as he normally does, but still managed to pull through and pick up the victory to become a champion once again.
