The finish saw the Bucks hit the TK Driver on O-Khan for the victory.

This is the second time the Bucks have held the IWGP Tag Team Titles. They last held them in 2018. The titles were vacated following World Tag League and an injury to HENARE, who held the titles with Great-O-Khan.

Naito & Takahashi won NJPW World Tag League 2024, earning them a shot at the IWGP Tag Team Titles. They chose to face each other at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom. Cobb replaced HENARE, who suffered an injury during World Tag League.

This was the first match for the Young Bucks since losing the AEW Tag Team Titles to Private Party (Zay & Quen) on the October 30th episode of AEW Dynamite. It was their first match in Japan since NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13.
