Nick Gage And Chris Jericho Discuss Domino's Spot In AEW Deathmatch, Gage's First Time On Live TV

Nick Gage has become a cult hero whose stock has only increased since he main evented AEW Dynamite with Chris Jericho.

The match has become legendary, not only for its content making it to national television, but for Gage using a pizza cutter immediately before a Domino's commercial where a pizza cutter was used. The company received backlash from Domino's with the pizza chain "assessing advertising presence." The bout was also Gage's first live television match.

Appearing on Talk is Jericho, Gage and Jericho reflected on the Domino's backlash and Gage's TV experience.

Chris Jericho: The best part is, we go to commercial break and then Domino's pizza comes up on the ad, cutting the pizza cutter. They were extra angry at us for that. Total coincidence.

Nick Gage: It's not our fault. We didn't know. We didn't know Dominos was coming up.

CJ: I didn't know either. If they were smart, they would have booked us in a Dominos commercial. We could have sold a bunch of pizzas for sure.

NG: Dominos got heat for that by the fans.

CJ: Total coincidence. Neither of us had any idea what was going on.

NG: Not at all. That was my first time doing live TV too. I had to learn that on the fly. That was tough. I had never done live TV before, only the streaming. Sometimes, I could take my time on things or yell at the crowd, and some guys really didn't like me in that crowd and I wanted to get at them, but live TV you have to go.

CJ: You did really good for your first time because it's not easy, especially when you're used to taking your time and going as long as you want. For us, it's like, 'Here is the first break, it ends here, we come out of break here, and the show is over here no matter what we're doing, so you better be finished.

NG: It was crazy fast. I felt good in there with the TV.

Gage noted that he was treated very well by AEW and loved his experience, saying the two got a standing ovation when they got to the back. He previously discussed his experience with Tony Khan, which you can read about by clicking here.

Gage is set to headline GCW Fight Club on Saturday, October 9 against Jon Moxley.
