With Wrestle Kingdom 14 fast approaching, the teams and schedule for this year's World Tag League have been revealed.
The final NJPW tournament will see notable names such as Hiroshi Tanahashi, Minoru Suzuki, SANADA, Zack Sabre Jr., Juice Robinson and more pair up for the three-week tournament. This year's tournament will have all 16 teams face each other in a round-robin format (match winners get two points, losers get zero points and a draw gives both teams one point) and the team with the most points after the December 8 World Tag League finale wins the tournament.
The winner of this year's World Tag League will get a shot at the IWGP Tag Team Champions at next January's Wrestle Kingdom with Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa currently holding the belts. Notable submissions from this year's tournament are Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, Jay White and Tetsuya Naito as all four are competing in what is essentially a four-man "Double Gold Dash" tournament across the two days of Wrestle Kingdom 14 to crown the first ever dual IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion.
