Number One Contender For NXT Championship Decided, Former NXT Champion Returns On 2/22/22 NXT 2.0

There is a new number one contender to Bron Breakker's NXT Championship.

In the main event of NXT 2.0, Dolph Ziggler and Tommaso Ciampa faced off for the right to be next in line for a shot at the NXT Title. The animosity between Dolph and the two NXT mainstays has been building for weeks, with Ciampa even showing up on this week's episode of Raw.

Earlier in the night, Ziggler addressed Breakker and said that he's even though he's tough and will make it to April's Stand & Deliver event, he doesn't believe Bron will have the belt around his waist come WrestleMania weekend.

Tonight's bout came to an end when, with the referee distracted, Ciampa was struck in the head by a ringside cameraman. This allowed Dolph to hit a Superkick and pin Ciampa for the win. The person then revealed themselves to be Robert Roode, Dolph's tag team partner and former NXT Champion himself.

They attacked Ciampa until Breakker came and fought them off. He then challenged them to a tag team match next week though it was not made official. The show went off the air with both teams, once again, brawling.
