Lexis King won the NXT Heritage Cup Championship from Charlie Dempsey at WWE NXT New Year's Evil and as it was before when he thought he won the title on Christmas Eve, there was some controversy to the finish.
The finish saw King seemingly incidentally head-butting Dempsey in the groin before delivering his Cross-Arm Twisting Neckbreaker for the victory.
He was announced as the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion again.

Following the controversial ending on Christmas Eve, the decision was overturned and the cup was returned to Dempsey. It's unknown if this decision will stand beyond this week.
