Since joining Team Taz, Powerhouse Hobbs has turned himself into one of the most physical forces on the AEW roster.
Hobbs most recently defeated Dante Martin to qualify for the Face of the Revolution ladder match, earning a measure of revenge for Team Taz after Martin swerved the group at the end of 2021.
Speaking to Brandon Walker of Rasslin', Hobbs explained how Taz has helped him behind the scenes.
"(He helps me) weekly. Not just at TV, but on the road, I can call him up, ask him for advice, ask him to critique a match for me and he's more than happy to do it. I've had instances where he's pulled me aside and said, 'you need to go out and be a strength assisin, do what you do. Separate yourself from the pack.' That's what I do. I was a huge Taz fan growing up anyway. Shutting the hell up, opening my ears, and listening, it's paid off so much," he said.
Hobbs also listed Mark Henry, Arn Anderson, FTR, Dustin Rhodes, and Billy Gunn as others who have helped him behind the scenes.
Speaking about Gunn, Hobbs remarked that he's still impressed by how big Gunn is.
"I came through and Billy is standing there, looking at the monitor, and he gives me the head nod of approval like, 'that was good.' I was still intimidated, just looking at him," he said.
Hobbs will compete Keith Lee, Wardlow, Ricky Starks, and two other men in the Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution.
