Powerhouse Hobbs says the new chapter in the Book of Hobbs is the TNT Championship.
Hobbs has challenged for gold on multiple occasions throughout his time in AEW, but he previously came up empty. At AEW Full Gear 2022, he unsuccessfully challenged for the TNT Championship in a three-way match, as Samoa Joe won the gold. Hobbs earned another shot at the title by winning the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite. He went on to challenge Wardlow, who regained the title by beating Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution, on the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite.
In the main event, the two powerhouses waged war in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. In the closing moments, QT Marshall returned and attacked Wardlow. He and Hobbs then powerbombed Wardlow off the stage and left him unable to answer the referee's count, so Hobbs won the title.
In a digital exclusive AEW posted on their YouTube channel, Hobbs commented on his title win. With Marshall by his side, he insulted Sacramento and made it clear he was looking forward to getting out of there. Hobbs also took a shot at the Sacramento Kings before he stated that the new chapter in the Book of Hobbs was the TNT Championship.
"Since we’re in California, I’m gonna get the hell out of this shithole, Sacramento, and take my ass back to Oakland. You suck, the Sacramento Queens suck. Like I said last week, there’s a new chapter in the Book of Hobbs, and it’s the TNT Championship. Now have a good night, and kiss my black ass," Hobbs said.
