Report: AEW TNT Championship Won't Undergo Name Change Despite Move To TBS

The AEW TNT Title is reportedly here to stay.

On May 19, AEW and Turner announced that AEW content will be moving to TBS in January 2022. With the pending move, many fans wondered if the TNT Championship would be renamed to the TBS Championship in the new year.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the TNT Championship will remain the TNT Championship.

Meltzer noted that "things could change," but he was told the TNT Championship would stay. Meltzer also said the title would be defended on the quarterly TNT specials, which was part of AEW's new deal with Turner and subsequent move to TBS.

The TNT Championship is currently held by Miro and he is set to defend the title against Lance Archer at AEW Double or Nothing.
