Gran Metalik, a member of the Lucha House Party and one of the original finalists in the Cruiserweight Classic, has reportedly asked WWE for his release.
A new report from Mas Lucha states that the Lucha House Party member is asking for his release following dissatisfaction with the way his tenure has been handled in the company. Reportedly, his contract runs through 2023.
"Mexican wrestler Gran Metalik, who in Mexico we know as Máscara Dorada, has asked the North American company WWE for a release from his contract due to lack of opportunities and a clear project within its ranks; this was confirmed to Más Lucha by sources close to the masked wrestler from Guadalajara, who debuted on the RAW brand in 2017. For several months, Gran Metalik, member of Lucha House Party, had shown his dissatisfaction with the way his career has been handled so far, so he seriously considered requesting the release of his contract, which runs until 2023," the report states.
In 2018, Metalik asked, in a tweet that has since been deleted, if he should go and travel the independent circuit or go back to CMLL should he leave WWE. One-third of the Lucha House Party, Kalisto, was let go by WWE earlier this year. Gran Metalik has also been praised by Bryan Danielson as one of the best in the world. Danielson is currently in AEW.
