2K Games using designs without permission?
2K Games have been the publishers of WWE video games dating back to 2014. One of the commonly mentioned praises for the 2K franchise is the realism of the characters they create and how those characters resemble the real-life individual that is being portrayed.
In terms of WWE 2K video games characteristics such as tattoos is what earns the franchise the props that it receives, but tattoo artist Catherine Alexander is not too pleased with 2K. Catherine Alexander is the tattoo artist of former 13-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton.
According to a report from TMZ Alexander is suing both WWE & 2K Games for using her designs for Randy Orton's 2K video game character without her permission. Alexander stated that she has been tattooing "The Viper" since 2003 and owns the copyrights to the designs of his tattoos. The problem she has is that the tattoos in the video game are spot on and an accurate depiction of the tattoos Orton has on his body which Catherine Alexander feels is copyright infringement. Alexander shared with TMZ that she brought this issue to the light in 2009 and was offered $450 in order to use to designs but she declined.
