Sami Zayn is good to go.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Sami Zayn is "ready to return" to WWE. Zayn underwent surgery on both rotator cuffs in June 2018 and was aiming for a return by WrestleMania 35. WWE began airing vignettes for his return on the Dec. 17 episode of Raw. WWE claimed Zayn would be "returning soon." That same night, vignettes aired for the return of Kevin Owens, who was also scheduled to "return soon."
Owens finally returned on this past Tuesday's episode of SmackDown. Videos featuring Owens hanging out with his kids began airing in recent weeks on WWE television, further promoting his eventual return. There has been no further television update on the status of Zayn since the December video.
Zayn last wrestled at WWE Money in the Bank 2018, losing to Bobby Lashley. He has reportedly been training at the Performance Center in preparation for his return.
During his time away, he made a podcast appearance on Talk is Jericho and stated, “I know wrestling fans maybe don’t want to hear this, but I’ve been loving being off, you know? I think maybe wrestling fans wanted to hear, ‘I can’t wait to get back and I miss everything’. I don’t miss anything. Not trying to like… I don’t miss it yet."
