According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, SummerSlam will now take place on Sunday, August 22. According to the report, there is no location set. Recently, WWE executives have openly spoken about the next show kicking off a full-time return to touring.

Last year's SummerSlam saw the debut of the ThunderDome. The state-of-the-art concept has allowed WWE to have a fan presence for the last year amid the global pandemic.

WWE did have a live audience for both nights of WrestleMania 37 but swiftly returned to the ThunderDome right after.
