Vince McMahon won't pull out of Saudi Arabia unless he's told to do so.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE will go to Saudi Arabia on Nov. 2 for Crown Jewel unless the US government intervenes.
"It's no longer up to Vince," Meltzer wrote on the Wrestling Observer message board. "Vince will never make the decision not to go. He's too far out of touch now. Company is hoping to get word tomorrow if they can still go. There's a reason tickets aren't on sale. Because they've been told they may not be allowed to go."
On Tuesday, Tom Maglio of The Wrap reported that WWE will make a decision on whether or not they will go to Saudi Arabia at some point today. Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports reported that WWE is "frantically scouting" locations to move the event to. Both Fox and Meltzer have reported that the event is in serious jeopardy.
Fox also reported that John Cena and Daniel Bryan are "refusing" to go. Meltzer and POST Wrestling's John Pollock reported that WWE creative team members were told that Cena would not be going.
WWE was reportedly waiting for the Turkish government to reveal details of their investigation into the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that the death Khashoggi was a ‘‘premeditated murder."
