WWE Raw Results For 7/23: A WWE Universal Title #1 Contender Is Crowned, Raw Tag Team Titles Are Defended & A Big Announcement

- The show starts with the entire locker room from all brands standing on the stage while Vince McMahon is in the ring, Vince introduces WWE COO Triple H and Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon as they make their way to the ring. Stephanie talks about creating history and Triple H joins in to acknowledge all the WWE superstars, Triple H talks about the bond between the wrestlers and how strong it is now. Triple H has all the female competitors step forward on the stage, Triple H says all the male superstars and the WWE Universe fully support the female superstars.  Stephanie announces that on October 28, over 50 women will take part in the first ever all women’s wrestling pay-per-view, which is going to be called “Evolution.”

- Curtis Axel talks about the Evolution pay-per-view with Bo Dallas, Axel wants to focus on tonight’s match first and Dallas talks about their history as a team.

- Elias is on the stage and he gets interrupted by the Deleters Of Worlds before anything can be said.

WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match
The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas) (c) vs. Deleters Off Worlds (Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt)

The match begins with Hardy catching Dallas in a headlock, Hardy tags in and Dallas quickly separates from Hardy. Wyatt quickly drops Dallas with a running cross body block, Wyatt traps Dallas in the corner while landing some strikes. Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail and Axel hits the ring to break it up as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Axel nailing a downed Wyatt with a knee drop. Axel holds a downed Wyatt in a chin lock after getting a near fall on a pin attempt, Dallas tags in and he double teams Wyatt alongside Axel for a near fall. Dallas then holds a downed Wyatt in a chin lock of his own, Wyatt recovers and nails a charging Dallas with a clothesline.

Hardy tags in and Axel gets a tag a few moments later, Hardy quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team. Hardy nails a cornered Axel with a running clothesline followed by a side effect for a near fall, Hardy goes to the middle rope and he nails Axel with an elbow smash. Hardy anils Axel with a Twist Of Fate for a near fall, Dallas hits the ring and he shoves Wyatt on top of Hardy. Axel then catches Hardy in a pinning combination for a three count.

Winners: The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas), still the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions

After the match, the Deleters Of Worlds attack The B-Team.

- Finn Balor is talking to Chad Gable backstage about Evolution when Balor notices people taking his stuff away, it turns out Constable Corbin gave Balor a child’s playhouse as his new locker room. Corbin appears and he says that Balor deserves his own locker room, Balor pretends to like the playhouse.

- Highlights are shown from last weeks Raw when Sasha Banks helped Bayley after getting attacked during a tag match, then we see Banks saying she loves Bayley.

- Charly Caruso interviews Bayley and Sasha Banks, Bayley says they have talked since last week and its their differences that make their friendship stronger. Banks admits that they are different people with the same dream, Banks also talks about the Evolution announcement.

Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Samantha Simon & Karen Lundy

The match begins with Bayley backing Lundy into the corner before landing a flapjack into the corner, Banks tags in and she works over the arm of Lundy. Lundy corners Banks and lands a few shoulder thrusts, Simon tags in and Banks nails her with a knee strike. Bayley tags in and she double teams Simon alongside Banks, Banks tags in and she double teams Simon with Bayley. Banks applies the Bank Statement and Simon taps out.

Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks

- Highlights are shown of the feud between Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens.

- Elias is on the stage again and he quickly gets interrupted by Braun Strowman.

- Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring and he has a microphone in hand, Strowman talks about Evolution and then about tonight’s main event. Strowman doesn’t care about who wins tonight and at WWE Summerslam because he eventually cash in his Money In The Bank contract, Kevin Owens interrupts and makes his way to the ring. Owens is angry that Strowman is talking about winning the WWE Universal Title after when he did to him, Owens said he wanted to be Strowman’s friend because of his son. Owens talks about how his family is concerned about him after what happened at WWE Extreme Rules, Constable Corbin makes his way to the stage.

Corbin says that he has found somebody to help Strowman control his temper, Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh make their ay to the ring. Mahal wants Strowman to help him find his inner peace, Strowman says he has a mantra of his own before calling Singh over to hold his microphone. Strowman eventually does his own mantra before attacking Mahal and Singh.

- A recap of Kurt Angle announcing Alexa Bliss versus Ronda Rousey at WWE Summerslam airs.

Mickie James w/Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya

The match begins with Natalya scoring a takedown on James, James gets free and Natalya drops her again before Bliss interferes. James attacks a distracted Natalya from behind before applying an STF, James transitions to a front headlock against Natalya. Natalya fights back and James shoves her to the mat below, James applies a chin lock to a downed Natalya. James gets Natalya in the corner and Natalya gets free to land a side Russian leg sweep, Natalya then hits James with a suplex before backing her into another corner. James looks for a hurricarana and Natalya counters with an electric chair, Natalya then nails James with a basement drop kick for a near fall.

Natalya looks for a sharp shooter and James kicks her to the ring apron, Natalya goes to the arena floor and she nails Bliss with a clothesline. James then nails Natalya with a kick to the head for a three count.

Winner: Mickie James w/Alexa Bliss

- Charly Caruso interviews Roman Reigns, Reigns says tonight is going to be different than WWE Extreme Rules because he will beat Bobby Lashley tonight. 

- Elias is on the stage again and he pimps out his album before the Authors Of Pain interrupt him.

- The Authors Of Pain are in the ring with microphones in hand, Akam says they won’t wait forever and they want competition. Titus Worldwide interrupts and they make their way towards the ring, Titus O’Neil has a microphone and he calls the AOP legit. O’Neil says the AOP have a lot to learn as the AOP mock him, Apollo Crews talks about all the O’Neil has done for him in the WWE. AOP demands that O’Neil leave the WWE and retire from wrestling, Titus Worldwide jumps the AOP and a brawl breaks out until Titus Worldwide clears the ring.

- Raw GM Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon are talking about the Evolution announcement, Kevin Owens arrives with Constable Corbin. McMahon asks KO if he is ok after being thrown off the top of the cage, Owens wants a match with Braun Strowman at WWE Summerslam with the Money In The Bank Contract on the line. McMahon likes the idea and sanctions the match.

Tyler Breeze vs. Mojo Rawley

The match begins with Breeze quickly nailing Rawley with a drop kick, Rawley throws Breeze to the ring apron and Breeze gets back in the ring before eating The Pounce. Rawley applies a cobra clutch to a downed Breeze, Breeze gets free and he nails Rawley with an enzaguri. Rawley recovers and propels Breeze into the corner, Rawley nails Breeze with the Alabama Slam for the three count.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

- Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre cut a selfie promo, talking about their plan to eventually take over the WWE.

- Elias is on the stage again and he gets interrupted by Finn Balor.

Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre w/Dolph Ziggler

The match begins with Balor attacking McIntyre with a series of strikes, McIntyre quickly drops Balor with strikes of his own. McIntyre traps Balor in the ropes while attacking him with chops, Balor recovers and he knocks McIntyre out of the ring with a drop kick. Balor follows that up with a suicide dive on McIntyre as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see McIntyre wrenching away on the arm of Balor. McIntyre releases the hold to drop Balor with a hard Irish whip into the corner, McIntyre then hits Balor with a dead lift suplex for a near fall. McIntyre keeps Balor down while wrenching away on his arm, Balor gets free and he nails McIntyre with a flying forearm strike. Balor eventually drops McIntyre with a tornado DDT for a near fall, Balor then hits a cornered McIntyre with some chops.

McIntyre recovers and Balor drops him with a rope assisted enzaguri, Balor goes for a Coupe De Grace and McIntyre gets out of the way. Balor still manages to hit McIntyre with a sling blade followed by a shotgun drop kick, Balor goes to the top rope and Ziggler attacks him to cause a DQ.

Winner: Finn Balor, by DQ

After the match, Seth Rollins hits the ring to make the save for Finn Balor. Raw GM Kurt Angle comes out to make a tag team match pitting Finn Balor & Seth Rollins against Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler.

Finn Balor & Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler

The action starts out with an all out brawl between both teams that starts on the arena floor and ends up in the ring, Rollins and Balor clear the ring. Ziggler returns to the ring and Rollins catches him with a hip toss for a near fall, Ziggler recovers and he nails Rollins with a series of strikes. Rollins fights back and he catches Ziggler with strikes of his own, Rollins knocks Ziggler outside of the ring before landing a suicide dive as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Rollins getting a near fall on Ziggler, Balor tags in and he attacks Ziggler with a few chops. Ziggler goes for a sunset flip and Balor rolls through to land a basement drop kick, Ziggler backs Balor into the corner as McIntyre tags into the match.

McIntyre traps Balor in the corner while landing some strikes, McIntyre holds Balor down while wrenching away on his arm again. McIntyre then drops Balor with a hard Irish whip into the corner, McIntyre uses a drop kick to knock Balor out of the ring. McIntyre picks up Balor and he drops him on top of the barricade, McIntyre gets Balor in the ring as he tags Ziggler in. Balor fights back and he eventually drops Ziggler with an overhead kick, McIntyre tags in and Balor tags in Rollins a few moments later. Rollins quickly cleans house before taking out both opponents with a suicide dive, Rollins then throws Ziggler into the barricade. Rollins then catches McIntyre with a springboard clothesline in the ring, Rollins then hits McIntyre with a blockbuster for a near fall.

Rollins catches McIntyre with a side kick before rolling him up, McIntyre kicks out of the roll up and Rollins nails him with another side kick. Balor hits the ring and he nails McIntyre with a sling blade, Ziggler then hits Balor with a super kick before eating one from Rollins. McIntyre then hits Rollins with an inverted Alabama Slam for a near fall, Ziggler tags in and he goes to the top rope. Rollins crotches Ziggler before knocking McIntyre out of the ring with a hurricarana, Rollins nails Ziggler with a curb stomp for the three count.

Winners: Finn Balor & Seth Rollins

- Charly Caruso interviews Bobby Lashley, Lashley says he came back for big time matches and he says that Roman Reigns will fail tonight. 

Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan

The match begins with Moon quickly nailing Morgan with a drop kick, Moon then hits Morgan with a fall away slam. Moon then nails Morgan with a clothesline in the corner, Morgan rolls out of the ring and Moon chases her back in. Moon then hits Morgan with a series of kicks, Morgan avoids a flying Moon before landing an enzaguri for a near fall. Morgan grabs Moon and smashes her face into the mat below, Morgan traps Moon in the ropes before pulling back on her head. Morgan drops Moon again for another near fall on a pin attempt, Morgan slows things down further by holding Moon in a chin lock. Moon uses a jaw breaker to get free from the chin lock, Moon follows that up with an inverted STO for a near fall.

Moon goes to the top rope and Morgan crotches her, Morgan follows Moon up to the top rope and she looks for a superplex. Moon uses a front suplex to knock Morgan off the ropes, Moon nails Morgan with the Eclipse for the three count.

Winner: Ember Moon

- Seth Rollins is shown backstage and he announces that he met with Raw GM Kurt Angle, Rollins then announces he gets a rematch with WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler at WWE Summerslam.

- Elias is back on stage once more before getting interrupted by Raw GM Kurt Angle, Angle says he didn’t come out to interrupt him and he wants to make sure he performs tonight. Elias talks about his newly released album, Elias starts performing his song and he stops to bash the people of Cincinnati. Bobby Lashley interrupts so he can go to the ring for the main event.

Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns

The match begins with the competitors locking up and testing their strength all over the ring, Reigns nails Lashley with a few rights before landing a clothesline. Reigns knocks Lashley out of the ring and he follows him out there, Reigns smashes the head of Lashley into the barricade before getting him back in the ring. Lashley recovers and he drops Reigns with a clothesline before knocking him out of the ring, Lashley goes out of the ring and Reigns drops him with a right. Lashley catches a leaping Reigns and lands an overhead release suplex as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Lashley nailing a charging Reigns with a spine buster for a near fall.

Lashley holds Reigns down while pulling back on both of his arms, Reigns gets free and both competitors drop each other with a double clothesline. Lashley and Reigns get up while having a striking exchange, Lashley then drops Reigns with a clothesline before landing an overhead release suplex. Lashley then hits a cornered Reigns with a spear, Reigns recovers and he gets Lashley up on his shoulder. Lashley uses the ropes to get himself to the ring apron before dropping Reigns with a clothesline, Lashley gets in the ring and Reigns sends him right back out.  Lashley gets in the ring and Reigns drop him for a near fall, Reigns goes for a superman punch and Lashley catches him in a full nelson. Reigns gets free and Lashley drops him before applying an inverted cross face, Reigns uses a roll up to break the submission from Lashley.

Lashley goes for a spear and Reigns sends him into the ring post, Reigns corners Lashley while landing some clothesline strikes. Lashley recovers and nails a charging Reigns with a power slam for a near fall, Lashley goes for a spear and Reigns counters with a superman punch for a near fall. Reigns hits Lashley with a second superman punch for another near fall, Lashley rolls out of the ring and Reigns follows him out there. Reigns goes for another superman punch and Lashley avoids it, Lashley sends a charging Reigns back in the ring before landing a spear for a near fall. Lashley goes for another spear and Reigns counters with a superman punch, Lashley kicks a charging Reigns in the face. Reigns nails Lashley with the spear for a three count.

Winner: Roman Reigns
