On August 15, 2023, WWE hosted a new episode of NXT on the USA Network. The show was headlined by The Family defending the NXT Tag Titles against The Dyad & Wes Lee facing DIJAK in a rematch from NXT Vengeance Day to determine the #1 Contender for the NXT Championship.

Elsewhere on the card, Mustafa Ali made an Announcement, Trick Williams faced Drew Gulak, Dana Brooke went one-on-one against Blair Davenport & more. Full results & highlights are listed below.

  • NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Family (Tony D'Angelo & Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo) (c) def. The Dyad (Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler) (w/ Joe Gacy, Ava Raine & Schism Followers).
    • Iny Nile came to the ramp, she was confronted by Ava Raine, Joe Gacy & Multiple Schism masked men; however, two druids attacked Fowler & Reid before D'Angelo hit a Fisherman's Buster on Reid for the pinfall win.
  • There was a vignette of Eddy Thorpe trying to repair his fighting spirit before saying that he had his eyes on DIJAK.
  • NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes was signing multiple pieces of merchandise before Wes Lee confronted him. Lee said that he would get a shot at the title, but Hayes told him to win the match against DIJAK tonight and get back to him afterward.
  • Andre Chase & Duke Hudson spoke with Thea Hail backstage to work things, but Hail responded by telling Chase to just not throw the towel.
  • Blair Davenport def. Dana Brooke (w/ Kelani Jordan).
  • Trick Williams def. Drew Gulak (w/ Charlie Dempsey & Damon Kemp).
    • Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs attacked Charlie Dempsey backstage, allowing Williams to catch Gulak with a Spinning boot Kick for the pinfall win.
  • There was a vignette of Dabba-Kato.
  • Baron Corbin, saying that Gable Steveson would not come back to NXT & that everyone in the back was a "bunch of little bitches" Corbin stated that he was aiming to be back in the Main Event where he belongs. Von Wagner & Mr. Stone confronted Corbin before Wagner to get Corbin's ass tabled. Wagner & Corbin brawled on the outside security guards separated them. The two will face each other on NXT Heatwave next week.
  • Rhea Ripley & Dominik Mysterio were talking backstage before they called out Lyra Valkyria & Dragon Lee to a mix-tag match for NXT Heatwave.
  • There was a vignette of Mustafa Ali where he announce the start of his Political Campaign to become the new NXT North American Champion, telling people to Believe In Ali.
  • NXT Championship - #1 Contender's Match: Wes Lee def. DIJAK.
  • Dragon Lee & Lyra Valkyria talked backstage before agreeing to be a team for next week against Dominik Mysterio & Rhea Ripley.
  • Tyler Bate had an interview backstage, where he stated that Joe Coffey needed to get "some balance" after an altercation they had in an NXT Community Event. The match between the two was set for after the commercial break.
  • There was a vignette of Ilja Dragunovm where he told Trick Williams that he was more dangerous than he can imagine.
  • Tyler Bate vs. Joe Coffey (w/ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang of Gallus) ended in a No-Contest.
    • Dabba-Kato attacked Coffey & Bate to end the match in a No-Contest.
  • Bron Breakker confronted Baron Corbin in the NXT Parking Lot, where Corbin stated that he would have an eye on Corbin's match against Von Wagner next week. Corbin responded by saying that Breakker intimidates anyone in NXT but him.
  • NXT Heritage Cup Champion Nathan Frazer hosted a new episode of "Hard Hitting Home Truth" but he was interrupted b the Meta Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend). Dar promised to win back the NXT Heritage Cup. Frazer got a giant red "FRAUD" button t& pressed it repeatedly to interrupt Dar before Dar promised to tear Frazer apart.
  • Jacy Jayne def. Thea Hail (w/ Duke Hudson & Andre Chase).
  • There was a vignette Los Lotharios (Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo) narrated by the late Humberto Garza.
  • Carmelo Hayes finished signing his autographs before being confronted by Wes Lee backstage. Lee told Hayes that he was not waiting until next week before taking a table to the ring for an impromptu contract signing.
  • There was a video package of NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton, where she promised to be on NXT Heatwave next week.
  • Wes Lee & NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes had an impromptu Contract Signing ahead of their match next week for the belt. Lee said that he had always had to fight from underneath, from being in the military to transitioning into a singles competitor, but he always made sure to turn doubters into believers.
    Hayes said that he understood Lee's sentiment, but told Lee that he cannot beat him. Lee fired back by saying that he would not fail anymore before signing the contract. Hayes told Lee to not chase Waterfalls before signing the contract. Lee then leaped over the table & told Hayes he would see him at Heatwave before the end of the broadcast.
