WWE NXT Results For 1/11/22 AJ Styles Challenges Grayson Waller plus Pete Dunne vs. Tony D’Angelo

- The show begins with highlights from last week's Bron Breakker vs. Tommaso Ciampa NXT New Year's Evil show. First, WWE NXT Commentator Vic Joseph welcomes the viewer to WWE NXT. Joseph then welcomes his colleague Wade Barrett to the telecast.

Zay: I'm Not Going To Customize AEW Tag Team Titles, These Are The Belts That Were Meant For Us

- NXT's Samantha Irvin introduces Bron Breakker to the crowd. There are dueling chants, "you deserve it," and some of the crowd chants, "no, you don't." Finally, Breakker says, "Thank You to Tommaso Ciampa." I know not many people got to see it, but after the match, he said that Ciampa told him, "you deserve it, kid." He also mentioned that Ciampa walked over and paid respects to his father. Breakker then tells anyone to challenge him, and he will outwork them.

Xyon Quinn vs. Santos Escobar ( w/ Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza)

Xyon Quinn enters the ring, throwing a few strikes at Santos Escobar to begin. They show Elektra Lopez watching on. Quinn has controlled the match since the beginning of it. Quinn tosses Escobar around like a ragdoll as we go to our first picture-in-picture commercial break.

Escobar gets some shots in on Quinn during the break, but they cause no harm. Quinn sends Escobar outside the ring and goes after him. Escobar begins getting more offense in and locks in a submission hold. Escobar had to let go of the hold because Quinn made it to the ropes. Escobar locks in another submission hold on Quinn; Escobar begins targeting the knee of Xyon Quinn.

Escobar hits Quinn with a dropkick to the knee. Escobar hits Quinn with a big chop; Escobar recovers and then tosses Quinn over the top rope; Elektra Lopez gets in front of Escobar from throwing him into the ring post. Santos Escobar gets back into the ring to distract the referee. Xyon Quinn and Elektra Lopez have a moment, and once Quinn turns around, she kicks him right in the groin. Quinn is put back into the ring, and Escobar immediately hits the Phantom Driver and pins Quinn for the victory.

Winner: Santos Escobar ( w/ Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza)

- We get a backstage vignette from Tony D'Angelo and how he will take care of Pete Dunne tonight.

- We see highlights from AJ Styles and Austin Theory's match and show Grayson Waller attacking Styles on the January 10th Raw.

- We get a promo vignette for Cameron Grimes.

- We get a vignette featuring Mandy Rose talking about her win at New Year's Evil while doing a Bikini Photo Shoot.

Damon Kemp vs. Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes and Damon Kemp begin with a tie-up; Grimes takes Kemp down quickly. Next, Malcolm Bivens appears by the entrance area and seems to be scouting Grimes or Kemp near ringside. Next, the announcers promote Damon Kemp and talk about his bright future.

Grimes is in control the entire match. Finally, Grimes hits Kemp with the Cave In and then pins Kemp to victory.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

- We get a promo from Joe Gacy and Harland, Gacy thanks the powers that be, the chance for him and Harland to compete in the Dusty Rhodes Classic by having a Play-In Match.

- The commentators announce that Von Wagner was suspended for his actions last week by attacking Duke Hudson.

Dusty Rhodes Play-In Match
Joe Gacy and Harland vs. Malik Blade and Edris Enofe

Joe Gacy and Edris Enofe start things, Gacy hits Enofe with a shoulder tackle. Gacy then hits Enofe with a spinning Uranagi. Malik Blade gets the tag, taking Gacy down with a quick hip toss. Enofe is tagged in and goes for a pin, but Gacy kicks out.

Enofe goes for a splash, but Gacy avoids him and tags in Harland. Malik Blade is the legal man, and Harland is punishing Blade. Harland continues to beat down Blade; Blade is on the ropes, the NXT Referee counts five, and Harland does not stop. The ref calls for the bell, and Malik Blade and Edris Enofe win by DQ.

Winners: Malik Blade and Edris Enofe

- We get a vignette from Imperium showing their success.

Crowbar on a Pole Match
Pete Dunne vs. Tony D'Angelo

Tony D'Angelo and Pete Dunne start to both for the Crowbar; however, Tony goes back and strikes Dunne in the face; Dunne is back up quickly and begins going after the arm of Tony D'Angelo. Pete Dunne attempts to go after the Crowbar, but he hits Dunne with an exploding suplex. D'Angelo hits Dunne with another suplex. They head out for a commercial break.

We return with Dunne stomping on Tony D'Angelo, and he hits Tony with a neckbreaker. Then, Dunne stomps on the shoulder of D'Angelo. Next, Dunne walks over to the Crowbar to try and pull it down; however, Tony hits Dunne with a suplex. Next, Tony grabs the Crowbar and attempts to attack Dunne with it, but Dunne gets the Crowbar away from D'Angelo.

Dunne gets the Crowbar and begins attacking Tony; Dunne comes back and hits Tony with four enzuigiri kicks. Dunne tries to get Tony to submit by using the Crowbar. However, Tony makes it to the ropes, releasing the hold. Dunne is then sent to the corner and hits his head on the pole; Tony then hits Dunne in the face with the Crowbar and pins Dunne to victory.

Winner: Tony D'Angelo

- Grayson Waller gets interviewed, and he says after he is done with AJ Styles tonight, he might go to Smackdown and smack Shinsuke Nakamura or Roman Reigns around.

Wendy Choo, Persia Perrotta, and Indi Hartwell vs. Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter, and Amari Miller

Amari Miller and Indi Hartwell start with a tie-up; Amari Miller gets the upper hand and dives and hits Indi Hartwell. Next, Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter hit over-the-top-rope dives. Next, Carter and Hartwell give each other a boot to the face. Hartwell then tags Wendy Choo and Carter tags in Amari Miller.

Wendy Choo gets the upper hand, but we see each competitor in the ring, taking each other out. Pirotta hits Catanzaro with a powerbomb. Finally, Indi hits an elbow drop to get the victory.

Winners: Wendy Choo, Persia Perrotta, and Indi Hartwell

MSK's Nash Carter and Wes Lee are walking backstage, coming across The Dusty Rhodes Trophy, and talking about what they need to do to win it again. Next, Dakota Kai appears, and she talks about winning it last year.

- Solo Sikoa is taping himself up preparing for his match and says it does not matter who he has to wrestle against; he will take care of it.

- Kay Lee Ray comes across camera equipment used for Mandy Rose's photo shoot, and she destroys the equipment.

Solo Sikoa vs. Boa

The match begins with Boa getting some shots in on Solo Sikoa; Sikoa recovers and nails Boa with a few heavy strikes. Then, Boa rolls out of the ring, and Sikoa goes after him. Boa pushes Sikoa into the ring post. Then, the action goes back into the ring.

Boa hits Sikoa with a double underhook suplex. Sikoa recovers, brings Boa to the canvas and hits Boa with a senton. Then, the action goes outside of the ring.

Sikoa and Boa continue to fight out of the ring as the referee counts, and the referee eventually gets to the ten, and we have a double count-out.

No Winner: Double Count-out

- AJ Styles gets interviewed, and he talks about why he loves NXT, and Styles also talked about his Georgia Bulldogs winning the NCAA Championship, and he is going to ride that momentum into tonight and then onto the Royal Rumble.

- Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are shown arriving at the show and will cut a promo as they take a commercial break.

- We return, seeing Solo Sikoa and Boa fighting backstage and throwing each other into different items. Boa throws a Fireball at Sikoa. He's shown watching Sikoa get help while wearing his mask.

- NXT Commentator announces that Von Wagner's suspension has been lifted and paid.

- Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are out to cut a promo. First, Hayes talks about his victory from last week. He then stops and remembers Roderick Strong title reign and says that Strong can "rest in piss." Hayes then boasts his accomplishments.

Hayes says he has the "A Championship" and tells someone to stand up or stand aside. Hayes begins celebrating, and AJ Styles music hits. Hayes and Williams say something to Styles as he walks down the entryway. Styles ignores him and walks to the ring.

- We return from the commercial break, and Cameron Grimes is standing outside by Carmelo Hayes vehicle and says he will be going after his title this year.

AJ Styles vs. Grayson Waller

The bell rings. AJ Styles and Grayson Waller exchange words; we have a dueling chant for AJ Styles and Grayson Waller. Waller takes Styles with a takedown. Waller begins showboating, and Styles hits him and then hits him multiple times. Styles nails Waller with a backbreaker and then hits him with a bodyslam and a knee drop.

Styles goes for the pin; Waller kicks out at two. However, Waller sends Styles into the turnbuckle face first, and we see Styles hit Waller with a big dropkick.

Waller uses the ropes to hit Styles with a neckbreaker. That brings Styles to the outside of the ring. Waller then hits Styles with a vicious clothesline on the outside. Finally, they head out for their last picture-in-picture commercial break with Waller in control.

During the break, we see Waller slamming Styles onto his back. Waller has Styles in a headlock as we return from the break. AJ Styles hits Waller with a combination of kicks and punches. Styles attempts to go for a Styles Clash; however, Waller manages to get to the ropes before Styles can hit it. Waller hits Styles with a big forearm and then hits Styles with a big elbow drop. Waller goes for a splash, and Styles counters it into the calf crusher. Waller manages to crawl over and grabs the rope.

Waller hits Styles with a sit-down powerbomb. Waller goes for the pin, but Styles kicks out. Waller acts like he will hit the Styles Clash; however, Styles stops it and sends Waller outside the ring. Waller comes in and hits Styles with a stunner. Next, Waller gets hit with a leaping Pele Kick, then hits a neckbreaker. Finally, Styles hit Waller with a Phenomenal Forearm. He then pins Waller to get the victory.

Styles tells Waller that he's good, but he isn't phenomenal. AJ then tells Grayson that his night isn't over, and he says he has a friend here that he wants him to see. LA Knight's music hits and begins beating down Waller. Waller eventually makes it out of the ring; we see Knight and Styles embrace as the show goes off the air.

Winner: AJ Styles
