WWE NXT Results for 3/10/21 Finn Bälor vs Adam Cole, Io Shirai vs Toni Storm

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE NXT!

- We open tonight's show with NXT General Manager William Regal who announces a two night NXT Takeover called Stand & Deliver on Wednesday and Thursday of Wrestlemania week. Regal has the women's roster come out onto the stage before having Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai join him in the ring. Regal makes Dakota and Raquel the inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team champions before Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart come out and challenge them to a title match. Regal then agrees to make the match for later tonight as we go to the ring for our opening match.

NXT Women's Championship Match
Io Shirai (c) vs Toni Storm

Toni is one step ahead of Io early before Io halts her momentum and locks in an abdominal stretch before sending Toni to the outside and Toni rips Io off of the top rope. Toni then sends Io into the barricade as we go to commercial.

Io and Toni exchange standing switches before Io hits a rolling stomp and Toni catches her up top before Toni hits a superplex. Toni clotheslines Io and hits an elbow drop before Io sends Toni out of the ring and hits a moonsault to ringside before hitting a meteora in the corner. Io then misses a moonsault before Toni hits Storm Zero for a near fall before Io avoids a diving headbutt and locks in a cross face for the tap and the win.

Winner: Io Shirai retains her NXT Women's Championship by defeating Toni Storm via submission.

- We get a backstage promo by NXT champion Finn Bälor ahead of his title defense against Adam Cole in our main event as we go to commercial.

- We come back from the break to a backstage interview with LA Knight who says that he's going to debut next week before he's attacked by Bronson Reed and they're separated by security.

Jake Atlas vs Pete Dunne (w/ The Kings of NXT)

Jake and Pete exchange wrist locks before Pete takes Jake down and they run the ropes before Jake hits a head scissors into a springboard arm drag. Pete kicks Jake when he's upside down before kicking him in the spine and chest before Jake comes back with a boot and a standing moonsault for two. Pete then counters the rainbow DDT and snaps the arm of Jake before locking in an armbar for the tap and the win.

Winner: Pete Dunne defeats Jake Atlas via submission.

- After the match Pete says that he's the most technical wrestler in the world and challenges anyone who wants to step up to try and prove him wrong.

- We get a taped promo by Imperium directed at Timothy Thatcher who tells Tim to join them because they're taking over one way or another as we go to commercial.

- We get a backstage promo by Leon Ruff towards Isaiah Scott where he says that he's going to defeat Isaiah when they face off next week.

NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match
Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez (c) vs Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart

Dakota Shotzi start the match off before Shotzi locks in a Cloverleaf and Dakota crawls to the ropes for the break right before tapping as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break to Dakota and Raquel in control of Shotzi on the mat before she gets the hot tag to Ember who knocks Raquel off of the apron and hits Dakota with a flurry. Ember hits a slam into a basement dropkick before hitting Raquel with a Code Breaker and Shotzi takes out Raquel with a suicide dive. Ember gets two off of a roll up back in the ring before Dakota sends her face first into the middle turnbuckle and a Helluva Kick in the corner. Raquel comes in and she and Dakota hit an assisted GTK for a near fall before hitting a variation of an Alabama slam for a near fall that Shotzi breaks up. Dakota comes back in and Shotzi hits a diving cross body before hitting a head scissors into a bulldog and a knee lift into a question mark kick.

Shotzi gets two before she and Ember double up on Dakota for two before Shotzi sends Dakota into Raquel and she and Ember spill over the top rope. Shotzi then capitalizes on the mishap and pins Dakota for the win.

Winner: Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon defeat Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez via pinfall to become the new NXT Women's Tag Team champions.

- We get a backstage promo by Adam Cole ahead of his challenging for the NXT Championship in our main event.

- Backstage majority of the women's roster congratulate Shotzi and Ember except for Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell before they walk up to Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory. Johnny reminds Austin of all of the negative things that Dexter said about Austin before Austin walks off in anger and Johnny and Indi go after him as Candice looks back at the women.

Xia Li vs Kayden Carter (w/ Kacy Catanzaro)

Kayden goes right after Xia who immediately drops her before Kayden clotheslines Xia repeatedly and superkicks Xia before hitting a sliding knee for two. Kacy then makes her way down to ringside on crutches before Xia focuses on the leg of Kayden before Kacy attacks Xia with her crutch for the disqualification.

Winner: Xia Li defeats Kayden Carter via disqualification.

- After the match Kacy attacks Xia before BOA breaks the crutch and Kayden attacks him from behind with the other crutch and they leave.

- We get a taped promo by NXT Cruiserweight champion Jordan Devlin who says that he's coming to NXT proper to show Santos Escobar who the real NXT Cruiserweight champion is as we go to commercial.

- We get a video package for Zoey Stark.

- Backstage Santos argues with William Regal about how he's the rightful Cruiserweight champion before Raul and Joaquin go out for their match against the Grizzled Young Veterans.

Legado Del Fantasma vs Grizzled Young Veterans

Zack and Raul start the match before LDF double team James and send Zack out of the ring for two on James before MSK come out dressed as astronauts. LDF then capitalize off of the distraction and Raul pins Zack with a roll up for the win.

Winner: Legado Del Fantasma defeat Grizzled Young Veterans via pinfall.

- After the match Breezango attack LDF from behind and MSK and Breezango celebrate in the ring.

- Backstage Dakota and Raquel are interviewed before Io shows up and says something to Raquel in Japanese before saying that she wants to face her for her title next. Raquel then tells Io to be careful what she wishes for as we go to commercial.

NXT Championship Match
Finn Bälor (c) vs Adam Cole

The two run the ropes and knock each other over before exchanging side headlock take overs and Finn dodges a superkick as we go to commercial with the two facing off.

We come back from the break to Finn in control of Adam before Adam comes back with an enzuigiri before Finn counters an ushigoroshi into a reverse DDT for two as we go to commercial.

We come back to Adam in control as he hits an ushigoroshi for a deep two count before Finn comes back with a shotgun dropkick before missing a Coup de Grace. Adam superkicks Finn before locking in a cross face before Finn gets to the bottom rope for the break before Adam hits the Last Shot for a near fall. Adam gets a near fall off of a Panama Sunrise before Finn sends Adam over the top rope and down onto the floor before Kyle O'Reilly comes down to ringside. Finn then hits Adam with 1916 onto the floor before rolling him back inside and finishing Adam with a Coup de Grace for the pin and the win.

Winner: Finn Bälor retains his NXT Championship by defeating Adam Cole via pinfall.

- Leon Ruff versus Isaiah Scott, Dexter Lumis versus Austin Theory, and the in-ring debut of LA Knight are announced for next week's show.

- After the match Kyle gets into the ring and attacks Adam before they brawl at ringside and on the ramp before officials stop Kyle from hitting a brainbuster onto the steps. Kyle then beats on Adam on the ramp before Adam flees and Kyle gives chase before Finn turns around to find Karrion Kross in the ring and the two face off as we go off the air.
