Rey Mysterio is determined to get revenge.
Santos Escobar betrayed Rey Mysterio and took him out with a vicious attack in November. Mysterio returned on the March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown and helped Carlito beat Escobar. The following week, Escobar and the rest of Legado del Fantasma attacked Dragon Lee. On the March 15 episode, Escobar defeated Lee, but Mysterio made the save after the match. He then challenged Escobar to face him on the March 22 episode.
In a SmackDown Exclusive, Lee thanked Mysterio, who made it clear that he had his sights set on revenge.
"That’s what they do. They like to jump people when they’re alone and behind their backs. I threw the challenge out. Now, I’m just waiting for Santos to accept it. Santos, for so many months, kept bragging and bragging. ‘You and me, together, we are family.‘ I’ll never forget that, and my knee will never forget that either. Next week, there’s gonna be a lot of payback," Mysterio said.
