Rhea Ripley: Hearing People Cheer For Me, It’s Even Louder Than I Thought It Would Be

Rhea Ripley discusses turning babyface.

Rhea Ripley became one of WWE's top stars during her run in The Judgment Day. She had a lengthy run as the WWE Women's World Champion, but she was forced to relinquish the title due to injury shortly after WrestleMania XL. The injury set her up for a remarkable return, as fans have embraced her and turned her into a major babyface. Ripley then competed in a high-profile match at WWE SummerSlam, where Dominik Mysterio betrayed her and helped Liv Morgan beat her to retain the Women's World Championship.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Rhea Ripley discussed her current run in WWE.

“I never thought that I could do this. Isn’t that wild? I’ve been able to accomplish so much here, but I never thought I was good enough. Early on in my career, I always heard I wasn’t good enough–or that I was distracting the people who had potential. I didn’t think I could be a big name here, but I was determined to become one," Ripley said.

Ripley also commented on the reactions she has been getting. She admitted that the cheers have been louder than she thought they would be. Ripley stated that she was grateful for her stubbornness in chasing her dreams and getting to this point.

“Hearing people cheer for me, it’s even louder than I thought it would be. So I’m grateful for my stubbornness. That’s what got me to America so far away from my family. It gets me to the gym in the morning. It gets me titles in WWE. I’m thankful to be so stubborn," Ripley said.
