Rhea Ripley Would Like To See NXT UK Go Live

Rhea Ripley wants to be on live television.

The past Wednesday on NXT UK, Rhea Ripley made history by becoming the first-ever NXT UK Women's Champion. Ripley defeated Toni Storm in the final of an eight-women tournament to capture the belt. She won the belt way back on Aug. 26, but her victory didn't make television until Nov. 28.

Speaking to Adnan Riaz of SPORTbible, Ripley discussed wanting NXT UK to go live instead of being taped months in advance.

"I'd like to record live. With the whole NXT tapings and it not being aired yet but, like, still being seen and people finding out, I'm okay with it because it eventually does get aired," said Ripley. "Yeah, it's a shame that I haven't been able to talk about it for three months, but at the end of the day, I'm still the first-ever NXT UK Women's Champion, so... I don't really mind when it gets aired. It's still awesome, it's still amazing, it's still a cool experience! But at the end of the day, the main goal for me is to be on live TV and if NXT UK could go live that would be awesome."

Despite being the NXT UK Women's Champion at the time, Ripley did not make the main show of WWE Evolution due to her title victory not being acknowledged on television. Instead, she was part of the dark match pre-show where she faced Dakota Kai.

Ripley will get her chance to be part of a live event on Jan. 12 when NXT UK holds their first TakeOver event. Ripley is scheduled to defend her NXT UK Women's Title against Toni Storm on that night.
