Ricochet discusses his decision to join AEW and what attracted him to squaring off with his old rival, Will Ospreay.
Ricochet has certainly turned a new leaf since competing in the Continental Classic Tournament in 2024. He has since embraced a more narcissistic and sadistic side of his personality, and his inflated sense of self shines through in his most recent interview with Cameron Hawkins of Uncrowned.
During the interview, he discussed competing with Will Ospreay again in AEW. He revealed that it was always attractive to him to show that he was always better than Ospreay, as he watched Ospreay grow in AEW and NJPW.
"The most attractive thing was to get in there with Will [Ospreay] again, was to show everybody how much better I was than him," Ricochet said. "That was the most attractive thing to me because I've been watching. I've seen it. I watched from afar, and I saw everything that he was doing.
"[Fans] bring that [NJPW] match up or something me and Will did, and they say that made them watch wrestling. I understand all that again. Having now the opportunity to get back in there with him, but then now show everybody that I am better than him and I always was better than him, that was attractive to me.”
Ricochet defeated Ospreay as part of the Continental Classic Tournament and is riding high on a recent victory over Swerve Strickland, whom he'd previously stabbed.
