Roman Reigns sent a heated message to Cody Rhodes on the March 20 episode of WWE Raw.
At the end of the night, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion came to the ring for a face-to-face confrontation with Rhodes, his opponent at WrestleMania 39. Tensions continue to rise between the two stars as WrestleMania draws closer by the day. On the March 20 episode of WWE Raw, Rhodes questioned what Reigns meant by referring to him as a "problem." Reigns explained that the problem came with what Rhodes represented, which is what they used to be.
He noted that Rhodes was a wrestler, while he was a fighter and a megastar. Reigns focused on Rhodes' track record and noted that he ran away from WWE because he didn't want to do the Stardust character. Reigns then stated that he started a company he couldn't get over in, and he ran away so he could come back to WWE. This was a clear reference to AEW, the company helped found in 2019. Rhodes was an Executive Vice President with the company, and he became a three-time TNT Champion before he left AEW in February the expiration of his contract.
Reigns also claimed that Rhodes started to get over, but his body gave out when he tore his pectoral, which he took as a sign that "The American Nightmare" isn't built for this.
"Let's look at your track record. You didn't want to do the Stardust thing, so what happened? You ran away. You ran away and started a company in a promotion you couldn't get over in and then you ran away and came here." - Roman Reigns to Cody Rhodes. #WWERAW

Rhodes fired back by stating that he did run away, but he helped every locker room by making sure everyone could make more money through his actions. He then told Reigns that everyone will leave him when he loses at WrestleMania, and he will be a "Tribal Chief" without a tribe. He got into an intense confrontation with Sikoa, but Reigns stopped the enforcer from attacking his WrestleMania opponent as Raw went off the air.
