The first two entrants in the King of the Ring quarterfinals are set.
Both Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander picked up wins in their respective first round matchups in the King of the Ring tournament, which began on Raw tonight.
In the first match to kick off the entire tournament, Joe defeated Cesaro after Cesaro nearly picked up the win following an uppercut at the start of the match. As for Alexander, he defeated Sami Zayn to advance to the top eight of the tournament.

Joe will take on the winner of the Drew McIntyre vs. Ricochet match in the quarterfinals while Alexander will face the winner of Baron Corbin vs. The Miz. The SmackDown side of the bracket will have the following matches:
- Kevin Owens vs. Elias
- Ali vs. Murphy
- Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Apollo Crew vs. Andrade
In related news, Booker T made an appearance on Raw via Skype and was asked about his prediction as to who would win the tournament. The former WCW champion said his pick to win it all is McIntyre.
