Sean Waltman still has his eye on one more run in wrestling.
In 2021, Sean Waltman underwent knee surgery and openly stated that his goal was to eventually return to the ring citing WWE Superstars like Santos Escobar and Sami Zayn as individuals he would like to step in the ring with before he officially calls it a career for good.
Now, with 2022 just days away, Sean Waltman announced on WWE’s The Bump that his surgeon has medically cleared him to return to the ring and his only New Year's resolution is to stay ring ready just in case his phone rings in early 2022.
"It's going great. My surgeon gave me the go-ahead. I just got the green light to get back in the ring," said the former X-Pac. "I'm just gonna get into better and better shape. I'll be ring-ready beginning of next year, in case my phone rings."

The start of next year is, of course, Royal Rumble season, and Waltman did say he is currently picking Damian Priest to win the 30-Man Battle Royal.
Sean Waltman is seen as a pioneer of the modern-day high-flying style of wrestling and has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2 times now, once as a member of D-Generation X and once as a member of the New World Order. Waltman is also the first Superstar to be honored with back-to-back inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame.
