Tony D'Angelo and Shawn Michaels shared a special moment.

Tony D'Angelo captured his first singles title in WWE by beating Charlie Dempsey to win the NXT Heritage Cup on the May 14 episode of WWE NXT.

NXT's Twitter/X account then shared a clip of Shawn Michaels congratulating D'Angelo backstage. Michaels jokingly asked whether The Family was going to take him to the river, and D'Angelo played along by saying that it depended. He then clarified that he was kidding.

Michaels then congratulated D'Angelo in another post, and the new champion said that he appreciated the legend. He also teased calling the Heritage Cup the Italian Heritage Cup.
