Shawn Michaels believes that D-Generation X can provide a good combo for WWE now that Triple H is in charge of main roster creative.
The world of WWE is changing every single day and after decades of Vince McMahon being the main voice in charge of WWE creative, Triple H has taken over that role following Vince McMahon's retirement. Prior to this, Triple H was the mastermind behind WWE NXT, a brand that Triple H’s best friend, Shawn Michaels now oversees.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Shawn Michaels commented on Triple H’s new position in WWE saying that they are now hoping they will be able to provide a “one-two punch” packed with NXT and main roster synergy.
“We hope now that we can put together a really powerful one-two punch between NXT and the main roster that’s going to drive WWE to even greater heights,” Michaels says. “He wants to stick to the mission statement, which is to be the greatest sports entertainment company on the face of the earth. I’m going to do everything here to help, and he’ll have the entire support of NXT. We’re all excited for the future.”
Of course, even if Shawn Michaels was not currently working with WWE to build its future, Shawn has already built a legacy that will immortalize him forever in the minds of wrestling fans. Symbolic of that immortalization, Shawn Michaels will now be featured on new NFT trading cards as a result of a partnership between WWE and Candy Digital. Learn more here.
As for the Synergy between NXT and the main roster, Triple H has already begun bringing several NXT alum to Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, several of which were previously released by the company. The latest returning Superstar was Dexter Lumis, someone who returned in a very unique way on the August 8, 2022 episode of Monday Night Raw. Learn more here.
