"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is asked about his current relationship with those who run WWE.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin was once the top star in WWE and is considered one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. During his time in WWE, Vince McMahon was the sole decision-maker on all matters. Austin and McMahon are forever linked because of their feud on-screen, which anchored WWE during the Attitude Era.
However, McMahon is no longer affiliated with WWE or its parent company, TKO. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was recently interviewed by Zack Heydorn of Sports Illustrated and asked how his dealings with WWE have changed since TKO took over. Austin said he couldn't speak to the matter because he's not in regular contact with anybody who currently wrestles.
"I don't know. I haven't talked to anybody. I don't really talk to anybody that's currently wrestling right now anymore. John Cena and I will talk, like once a year, or whatever. I haven't talked to John in forever. I don't know. I haven't been there. I just know finally, there's a couple of people who work behind the scenes in the office that are still there from when I was there. But they've cleaned house pretty good, and it's a new setup. But I can't speak to any of that because I honestly do not know."
Steve Austin did want to make it clear that there's no ill will; he just hasn't been in regular contact with anyone.
"We're good. I just don't know how the day-to-days are going, but I mean, they're pushing the creative envelope in a whole lot of different directions, and it seems like it's done good for them, I guess."
