Stokely Hathaway says he pushed Private Party in the right direction.
As Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) gained momentum in AEW's tag team division, Stokely Hathaway tried to recruit them. However, the duo turned him down. Their decision paid off, as they beat the Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) at AEW Fright Night Dynamite.
In an interview on the November 1st episode of AEW Rampage, Stokely Hathaway was asked whether he thought that he had a hand in their win. He noted that he did, as he pushed them in that direction. Hathaway said that it was called motivation and tough love. He claimed that if it weren't for him, Private Party would not be the tag team champions that fans knew today. Hathaway called himself the architect of champions.
Hathaway also said that he loved AEW and his peers.
Stokely Hathaway might be taking a BIT too much credit for Private Party’s #AEW World Tag Team Title victory…
