Taya Valkyrie will defend the MLW World Women's Featherweight Championship on the Match 21 episode of MLW Underground.
On the March 14 episode, Valkyrie, John Hennigan, and Sam Adonis mocked Starkz while she was at a photo shoot. Starkz stepped up to the champion and make it clear that she wanted to challenge for the gold. Valkyrie initially turned her down and stated that gold didn't look good on her. Starkz continued to force the issue, and she didn't back down when Hennigan got in her face. Vakyrie then agreed to put her title on the line against Starkz, and the match was announced for the March 21 episode of MLW Underground.

Starkz previously defeated Kayla Kassidy on the February 28 episode of MLW Underground.
Valkyrie is the inaugural MLW World Women's Featherweight Champion. She won the title by defeating Holidead at MLW Kings of Colosseum 2022. She recently retained the title against Zoey Skye on the February 14 episode of MLW Underground.
