Tetsuya Naito Off 2/17 NJPW Road To Castle Attack With Knee Injury, 2/21 Event Canceled

Tetsuya Naito is banged up.

During the February 17 NJPW Road to Castle Attack, Tetsuya Naito began the show by saying he suffered a knee injury and would not be able to compete. Naito was scheduled to team with SANADA in the main event against Kota Ibushi and Yuji Nagata.

He wrestled the night before, February 16, at NJPW Road to Castle Attack.

It is unknown how long Naito will be out of action. He is still being advertised for the February 19 NJPW Road to Castle Attack.

In other NJPW news, the promotion announced the February 21 Road to Castle Attack has been canceled as the venue (Fukushima’s Toyota Crown Arena) was damaged after an earthquake near Fukushima struck on Saturday, February 13.

Sunday February 21 was set to see night seven of the Road to Castle Attack tour in Fukushima’s Toyota Crown Arena. After an earthquake near Fukushima struck on Saturday February 13, the venue has incurred some damage, and in the interests of safety, New japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the difficult decision to cancel the event.

Ticket holders will be refunded, with a refund procedure to be made available soon. We apologise to fans who were looking forward to the event, and appreciate your understanding.
