One day after battling inside the Fight Pit, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher will now have to unite to try and win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
NXT General Manager William Regal announced Ciampa and Thatcher will fill the vacant spot in the tournament after Thatcher hinted at the possibility following Wednesday's NXT.
A spot became available following Ashante 'Thee' Adonis not being medically cleared after losing to Karrion Kross on NXT. Adonis was scheduled to team with Desmond Troy in the tournament. The duo were slated to face Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari in the first round of the Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on the January 22 episode of 205 Live.
Well, @NXTCiampa is partially correct. There WAS an opening for the #DustyClassic, but it seems you two have just filled that vacancy... good luck gentlemen. #WWENXT https://t.co/Y68idUyWQL
