A major Discovery Warner exceutive is exiting the company.

Deadline is reporting that Brett Weitz is set to leave his role as the general manager of TNT, TBS, and Tru TV. Weitz is set to transition out of his role in the next thirty days after being with the company for nearly 14 years.

Weitz was made the GM of the three networks in August 2019. During his time in the role, he made TNT and TBS the #1 and #2 networks in prime among all cable entertainment networks. Before taking on that role, Weitz was the EVP Programming for TBS and the SVP Scripted Development for TBS and TNT.

This departure was expected by some within the industry after Warner Bros. Discovery cut scripted programming from TNT & TBS a few weeks ago.

It is unknown if the departure will affect AEW programming in anyway.

Fightful will keep fans updated on major departures from Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as any updates on AEW's standing within the new merger.
