Tommaso Ciampa is back!
During the June 19 episode of WWE Raw, the former NXT Champion made his return to television, answering The Miz's open challenge. Miz had planned on answering Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship Open Challenge, but it never happened thanks to a heinous attack by Finn Balor.
Prior to his injury, Ciampa was aligned with The Miz, but Ciampa told commentary that Miz didn't call him once during the nine months he was off. Ciampa would win the match after connecting with the Fairytale Ending.

Ciampa last wrestled on live event in mid-September, and the following month revealed that he had undergone surgery for a torn hip labrum. At the recent WWE Draft, Ciampa was drafted to Raw, putting him on the same brand as his old DIY teammate, Johnny Gargano.
