Tony D'Angelo will challenge for the gold at NXT Stand & Deliver.
Carmelo Hayes was set to challenge Ilja Dragunov for the title at NXT Stand & Deliver, but Tony D'Angelo convinced the champion to let him and Hayes battle it out for the opportunity. Hayes, who was accompanied to the ring by his personal security team, faced D'Angelo in the main event of NXT Roadblock on March 5.
D'Angelo and Hayes clashed in a hard-fought match, and the former NXT Champion was on the verge of victory, but the sound of Trick Williams' theme song playing distracted him. D'Angelo took advantage of the situation and pinned Hayes to win the match. As a result, he will challenge Dragunov for the title at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 6.

D'Angelo then revealed that he played a trick on Hayes with Williams' theme music. However, he noted that he was a giving Don, as he had a gift for Hayes. Williams then came out and took the fight to Hayes as NXT came to an end.
