The August 12 episode of AEW Rampage was highlighted by the AEW Rampage debut of Parker Boudreaux, who defeated Sonny Kiss and Ari Daivari taking on Orange Cassidy in the main event.
After the main event bout, Sonny Kiss turned on Cassidy and aligned with the Daivari, Boudreaux, and Slim J in the Trustrbusters.
Some fans were confused by the Trustbusters headlining the show and being used so much given their lack of television time and prominence leading up to the event. Responding to criticism, Tony Khan pointed out that many had similar complaints when he pushed Daniel Garcia & 2point0 and The Acclaimed in past years.
Coming less than 48 hours off of maybe the best @AEWonTV show we’ve ever done out of a few hundred + given it’s an #AEWRampage Friday, I feel emboldened to point out that in 2021, I got very similar reactions for strapping the TV rocket to Garcia/2.0, and in 2020 to The Acclaimed

Garcia and 2point0 are now members in the Jericho Appreciation Society and are regularly featured on television while The Acclaimed is one of the top tag teams in the company.
The Trustbusters will be in action on Friday's AEW Rampage as they take on The Best Friends in the AEW Trios Titles tournament.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Rampage beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
