Tony Schiavone speaks highly of the feud between Toni Storm and Mariah May.
The storyline with AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm and Mariah May dates back to May's AEW debut in November 2023. It continued to evolve over the next few months, and it exploded when May turned on Storm after she won the Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament. The feud continues to heat up heading into their title match at AEW All In.
Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone brought up the storyline with Mariah May and Toni Storm and said it was one of the best angles AEW has ever done.
“I was told one time by a boss in my wrestling journey, looking around, he said, ‘No idea is a bad idea. Let’s throw it out there.’ You gotta come up with something, right? That’s how they came up with Toni Storm angle with Mariah May. Let’s think of something, and everybody put their heads together, and obviously RJ City had a lot to do with that. He’s a very talented kid, I have a lot of time for him, and to me, the Toni Storm/Mariah May angle is one of the best angles we’ve ever done in AEW," Schiavone said.
Mariah May recently said that AEW felt like the place she was supposed to be. Check out her comments here.
