Will Ospreay isn't done with Kenny Omega yet.
On the August 31 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay and Omega finally faced off when The Elite battled United Empire in the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament Dynamite Final. In the end, the former AEW World Champion scored the victory for his team.
After the show went off the air, Omega spoke about the match and The Elite's mission before Ospreay attacked him from behind.
“When I talked about not being used to speaking on the microphone like this after a show, I really meant it, but here we are, almost two weeks in a row. Or is it two weeks in a row? Two weeks in a row? Geez, how lucky am I, and in front of one of our greatest crowds. We can gladly call you guys the birthplace, the hometown, of AEW. Even though there are some fantastic wrestlers around the world, by no means are we gonna sit back and take an L to any other person from any other promotion because what we truly believe is that when you guys trusted us to start. revolution, to start an alternative to professional wrestling, we took those words, and we took them right here, straight to heart. So not only has it become our passion to perform for you people, but it’s become our purpose. So even though we love treating you guys to some interesting and fun guests, by no means are we ever going to lose. When it comes to the finals of the trios tournament, you gosh darn best believe, mother-father...," Omega said before Ospreay blindsided him.
Ospreay proceeded to tell Omega, "This ain't over, not by long shot, Ken."
The United Empire trio proceeded to brutally assault Omega specifically, as Ospreay repeatedly hit his abdomen and his back with a chair. They wrapped a chair around Omega's neck, seemingly planning to take him out, before The Young Bucks fought back. But Ospreay, Kyle Davis, and Mark Fletcher overcame the Jackson brothers and slammed them both onto a chair.
To punctuate the beatdown, Ospreay blasted Omega with a Hidden Blade and talked some trash before the trio walked away. The Young Bucks slowly get back to their feet, and Omega was helped out of the ring.
Due to their win on Wednesday, Omega and the Young Bucks advanced to the tournament finals at AEW All Out. They will find out who they will face on the September 2 episode of AEW Rampage, where Hangman Page, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds will face the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy.
